Abstract / Description

In this breakout session from the Partners for Advancing Health Equity 2022 Summit, panelists shared excerpt clips from the film "Public Education, Racism, and Community Health: Lessons from New Orleans" which documents the community struggle in having a say with rebuilding the city's public education system after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The webinar also highlighted the structural flaws of the American charter school system through clips of community and board meetings as well as with interviews with parents, students, and teachers.
